Michael Haltzel, a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Institute, commented on the refugee situation in Europe to The New York Times in September 7th. He said that the reaction ranges in Europe from passivity to outright hostility, and that the political beneficiaries in many countries might be right-wing ultranationalists.
