The Speaker of the House of Commons, the Right Honourable John Bercow MP, will visit
Finland on 8 and 9 October, calling on Finnish Parliamentarians and meeting key Finnish
Political figures. As part of his visit he will participate in a seminar organized by the
Finnish Institute of International Affairs in cooperation with the British Embassy. Join us
for a lively, Parliamentary style presentation and debate on the role of the UK and Finnish
Parliaments in EU decision making, covering the effectiveness of Parliamentary scrutiny,
the role of National Parliaments, relations with the European Parliament and the role and
place of subsidiarity within the UK and Finland.
