Rachel Tausendfreund

Rachel Tausendfreund is a visiting senior research fellow at FIIA’s Center on US Politics and Power for the autumn of 2022. Rachel joins FIIA from the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where she is editorial director and writes on German and US politics and foreign policy, transatlantic relations more broadly as well as critical approaches to foreign policy (post-colonial critiques and feminist foreign policy).

Rachel is US-American but has lived and worked in Berlin since 2004. Before FIIA and GMF, Rachel was editorial director at the European Council on Foreign Relations and editor at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). At the DGAP, she was a member of the editorial team of the bimonthly foreign policy magazine Internationale Politik and ran IP-Journal, an online magazine covering German and European foreign policy.
