The Center on US Politics and Power (CUSPP) of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) has received €225,000 in follow-up funding from the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation for a research project called The US at a turning point: The Future of foreign and domestic policy in an age of confrontation.
The Center on US Politics and Power is the leading research center in its field in the Nordic countries. It specializes in research and expertise on the evolving global and regional role of the US and works in conjunction with the the Global Security and Governance research programme at FIIA.
Charly Salonius-Pasternak, Leading Researcher at CUSPP, expresses his gratitude for the funding from Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation.
“With the Foundation’s support for over a decade, we have been able to establish a unique research network focusing on US foreign and security policy. The support has made possible a variety of visits by researchers and officials, academic and policy-focused publishing, and the organization of seminars,” Salonius-Pasternak says.
“With the funding provided by the Foundation, the Center has also been able to support the development of a new generation of researchers specializing in the United States, which is important especially now that the country has become a key ally for Finland,” adds Salonius-Pasternak.
