History
The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) was established in 1959. The decision to create its administrative head, the Foundation for Foreign Policy Research, was made by the Paasikivi Society in November 1959, giving the Foundation the task of setting up FIIA.
Organisation

The Finnish Institute of International Affairs employs around 70 people who work as researchers and in administrative tasks. FIIA's work is guided by the Board, the Advisory Board and the Scientific Advisory Board.

Helsinki Security Forum

The Helsinki Security Forum (HSF) is an annual international security conference organised by FIIA. It gathers dozens of foreign and security policy experts, decision-makers and influencers from all around the world to discuss the most pressing security questions.

Finnish Journal of Foreign Affairs

FIIA publishes The Finnish Journal of Foreign Affairs (Ulkopolitiikka), an independent online magazine covering international politics and economy in Finnish. Ulkopolitiikka is available to read for free.
