A book chapter, entitled Finland: Direct Democracy and Representational System written by FIIA’s Programme Director Juha Jokela and Research Fellow Tuomas Iso-Markku, has been published in a book Direct Democracy in the EU: The Myth of a Citizens’ Union (CEPS, Brussels; Rowman & Littlefield International, London).
The volume is edited by Steven Blockmans and Sophia Russack, and is part of the ‘Towards a Citizens’ Union’ (2CU) project. The volume is the product of collaboration with 20 renowned think tanks from the European Policy Institutes Network (EPIN) and is the first of three publications that will also cover the state of representative democracy in the EU and the accountability of democratic institutions.
