Government and self-censorship blocking freedom of speech in Russia – why glasnost’s legacy must not be forgotten?

Research Assistant at the Institute Veera Laine wrote an article on politiikasta.fi titled “Hallinto ja itsesensuuri Venäjän sananvapauden tiellä – miksi glasnostin perintöä ei pidä unohtaa?”. In the article, she addresses freedom of speech in Russia and compares the situation with the concept of glasnost that was born in the 1980s.
