The Parliament has on 18 December 2023 appointed Ambassador Klaus Korhonen and State Secretary for EU Affairs Jari Luoto as members to the Board of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. Klaus Korhonen will commence his role on 1 February 2024, while Jari Luoto will start right away. The Board will elect a new Chairman to replace Kai Sauer at its first meeting in 2024.
The current Chairman of the Board Kai Sauer has been appointed as the Ambassador to the Finnish Embassy in Berlin, and Lauri Voionmaa as the Deputy Permanent Representative to the Permanent Mission of Finland to the UN.
