The Union of Research Professionals has awarded the Academic of the Year recognition to Timo R. Stewart, Senior Research Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. One of Stewart’s noted merits is his ability to clearly present research-based knowledge in public discussions concerning a socially and politically challenging conflict.
The award is given annually to an academic who has advanced the prerequisites for research work and the use of scientific knowledge as part of societal decision-making or brought positive publicity to research and academia.
