The annual FIIA Forum is held on Wednesday 20 March, 2024 under the theme “The European Union in a year of change”.
Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine has lasted two years and global politics have become increasingly complex and uncertain. In June 2024, the European Parliament elections will alter the political landscape in Brussels, and a new European Commission will set its policy priorities. FIIA Forum 2024 will address the role of the EU in a changing world and the challenges that lie ahead of the Union.
This year we will hear from Finland’s political lead. Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will deliver the keynote speech, and Minister for European Affairs Anders Adlercreutz will join the final high-level session to discuss EU enlargement and reform.
The excellent international speakers of FIIA Forum include Kristi Raik from the International Centre for Defence and Security, Elizabeth Sidiropoulos from the South African Institute of International Affairs, Toni Haastrup from the University of Manchester, and Ilke Toygür from IE University. Read more about the programme and register to follow the livestream on the event page. The event will be streamed on FIIA’s Youtube channel.
