Harri Mikkola is the Programme Director of the Finnish Foreign Policy, Northern European Security and NATO research programme. His fields of expertise include the Arctic region, societal resilience, security of supply, hybrid influencing, Finnish defence and security policy, as well as defence market issues.
Mikkola has published extensively on the respected topics and has years of experience in managing research projects. Prior to joining the FIIA in 2011, Mikkola worked at the Finnish Defence Command, at the University of Tampere in Finland, and as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Minnesota in the US. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of Tampere in 2013.
